Michaela Rose

My daughter Michaela is just over 3 years old. It’s funny how quickly you forget what a 3 year old (or 4 year old or 5 year old) is like. The other day she was taking forever to wash her hands after going to the bathroom. When I went in to check on her she was very carefully washing her elbows. “I’m washing my elbows so they don’t get hurt, Mommy.” Um, sure. Why else would you wash your elbows? 3 year olds have such funny ways of thinking about things.

She will regularly come up to me and say, “I’m beautiful, Mommy.” Of course you are sweetheart. It’s so funny, I’m quite certain those words never came out of my mouth when I was a little girl. But she is completely confident that she is beautiful. I hope she’s always that certain. 🙂

My beautiful, darling, sweet daughter . . .

began our day by throwing a major fit because I gave her a cup of milk rather than juice. Silly me. A few minutes later, she climbed into my lap with her blankie and spent 5 minutes cuddling and sweetly cooing at me before toddling off to wreck havoc throughout the house. Life with a young toddler! 🙂
